Simon Dunn – President

Simon was a founding member of the Mona Vale Chamber progressing from secretary in 2010 to Vice-President in 2012 and 2013. As President of the Chamber in 2014 and 2015, Simon’s focus is on the policy direction of the Chamber and in particular the Chamber’s input into the Mona Vale Place Plan.

Simon is the Practice Director of DUNN LEGAL (Robert T. Dunn & Co.). He was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 2001 and has over 13 years experience in litigation. He was raised in Newport and educated at Newport Public School, Pittwater High School and then Pittwater House Grammar School at Collaroy. He completed a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Government (1996) and a Bachelor of Laws (1999) at the University of Sydney, before undertaking a Diploma in Legal Professional Practice at the College of Law, Sydney (2000).

Simon has a long association with Mona Vale, having worked here for many years as a student years with both his father’s Waratah Street legal practice, Robert T. Dunn & Co, and at Pittwater Cellars. After his first graduate position as a District Court judge’s associate, Simon worked for CBD law firms Abbott Tout and then Hunt & Hunt. In 2007, Simon commenced working in Maritime Law with Aus Ship P&I, before rejoining his father’s general legal practice in 2008.

Simon now lives in Warriewood with his wife and two children. He has been an active participant in Manly Warringah Basketball Association since 1989 and represented the Club in its Senior Mens Representative Teams between 1996 and 2005, as well as coaching a number of junior representative teams. Between 2002 and 2011 Simon volunteered his professional skills as a Director of the not-for-profit Northern Beaches Indoor Sports Centre at Warriewood. Simon is an active member of Mona Vale Anglican Church (St. John’s) and in 2013 and 2014 was one of the volunteers coordinating the Pittwater Famine Village fundraising event for World Vision’s 40 hour famine.
