Personal and Non-Personal Information

When using this website, you may be asked to provide personally identifiable information about yourself (“Personal Information”), including but not limited to, your name, email address, physical address and telephone number. We may also collect non-personally identifiable information, such as IP host address, pages viewed, browser type and other data and may aggregate any information collected in a manner which does not identify any individual (“Aggregate Information”).

If you join the Mona Vale Chamber of Commerce, your business name and a link to your website will be published on our list of current members page which is available to the public as an advertising service to Members. In addition, your name, contact details and business logo will be published in our members directory.

Whenever you use our web site, or any other web site, the computer on which the web pages are stored (the Web server) needs to know the network address of your computer so that it can send the requested web pages to your Internet browser. The unique network address of your computer is called its “IP address,” and is sent automatically each time you access any Internet site. From a computer’s IP address, it is possible to determine the general geographic location of that computer, but otherwise it is anonymous.

We do not keep a record of the IP addresses from which users access our site except where you have specifically provided us with information about yourself, in which case we also record your IP address for security purposes. An example of this would be when proceeding to a checkout to finalise an order you may wish to make. After completing the form provided, your IP address will be stored along with a transaction number that allows us to track your order.

Information Usage

We may share your business contact details with a third party, including the NSW Business Chamber and other members of the Chamber of Commerce. We may also use Aggregate Information to improve and enhance the Site, analyse trends, administer the Site and for our market research activities. Please note that we reserve the right to access and/or disclose Personal Information and non-personal information we gather as required by courts or administrative agencies and to the extent required to permit us to investigate suspected fraud, harassment or other violations of any law, rule or regulation, the Site rules or policies, or the rights of third parties or to investigate any suspected conduct which we deem improper.

Cookies

‘Cookies’ are pieces of information that may be placed on your computer by a website for the purpose of facilitating and enhancing your communication and interaction with that website. Many websites use cookies for these purposes. We may use cookies to customise your visit to the Site and for other purposes to make your visit more convenient or to enable us to enhance our service. You may stop or restrict the placement of cookies on your computer or flush them from your browser by adjusting your web browser preferences, in which case you may still use our Site but it may interfere with some of its functionality. We do not use cookies to retrieve personal information from your computer for purposes that are unrelated to the Site or your interaction with the Site.

Clickstream

As you use the Internet, a trail of electronic information is left at each website you visit. This information, which is sometimes referred to as “clickstream data,” can be collected and stored by a website’s server. Clickstream data can tell us the type of computer and browsing software you use and the address of the website from which you linked to the Site. We may collect and use clickstream data as a form of Aggregate Information to anonymously determine how much time visitors spend on each page of our Site, how visitors navigate throughout the Site and how we may tailor our web pages to better meet the needs of visitors. This information will be used to improve our Site and our services. Any collection or use of clickstream data will be anonymous and aggregate, and will not intentionally contain any Personal Information.

Security Policy – Online Purchases

If you choose to pay your annual membership subscription fees online using your Mastercard or Visa card, we advise that your credit card details will not be seen or collected by the Mona Vale Chamber of Commerce. Instead, you will be temporarily redirected to a Westpac Payway secure server page which will collect your financial details using the latest 128-bit SSL (secure sockets layer) encryption technology. 128-bit SSL encryption is the current industry standard. When viewing a form that is using SSL encryption, your web-broswer should display a padlock symbol and the address of the webpage should commence with https://. If you have any questions or concerns regarding our security policy, please contact us by email.
