It’s disappointing that we need to postpone our monthly event again, however I’m sure you all understand that the current health guidelines advise against gatherings.  Our Park House event is not on.  In other news Michael Regan has again requested chamber presidents to participate in weekly video conferences with Ray Brownlee and his executive staff with a view to understanding commercial needs during the lock down.  These meetings previously resulted in waiver of leasing fees on council owned properties and 10 minute “Pick-Up” zones outside café’s & restaurants, among other initiatives.  It’s interesting to note that the “Pick-Up” zones became popular in centres across NSW.  Since couriers are the life-blood for a lot of businesses and they will be challenged by the new QR code ruling, I have asked for allowances for them.  Do you think we need more loading zones?  If so where?  We are due for an Annual General Meeting and aim to have one in September, face to face as long as the creeks don’t rise and parliament permits.  If you think you can contribute to the ongoing operation of the Mona Vale Chamber as a director, or simply by participating then please let me know because we could use your help.
